Step 1. Clean pool, skimmers, strainer baskets and filter. Brush the Algae spots with a stainless steel brush. You might need to repeat this several times as you if you are doing a major algae cleanup.
Step 2. Check and adjust pH.
Step 3. Add 1 pound of Trichlor for every 3000 gallons of water. Brush entire pool. On very bad Algae growth you can put Trichlor directly on the spot. Never use this treatment on dark-colored plaster, painted or vinyl lined pools. Use Liquid Chlorine instead at 1 gallon for every 2,500 gallons.
Step 4. Run the Circulation for 72 hours, brushing and vacuuming the entire pool at least once a day.
Step 5. Repeat this process until the algae is gone.
This process can be done by the homeowner or El Sol Services will perform this procedure for $250.
